Having a genuine hub for researching and promoting the field of pidgin and creole linguistics will encourage linguists of various specializations to initiate relevant research in EPA. While theoretical linguists find interest in data relevant to new linguistic patterns and structures, applied linguists will be interested in investigating the language-related real life problems involved. Psycholinguists, sociolinguists, and those working within domains of historical linguistics will benefit a great deal from opportunities this line of research has to offer.
This project endeavors to attract scholars from various academic communities, integrating the international research community with the Middle East and the UAE in particular around the shared interest in EPA and Arabic Pidgin Language. This also serves as an avenue for students to delve into their own research surrounding EPA for their term papers and senior projects, shedding light on relatively new and unmarked territory, and exploring these topics from a young and unsullied lens.
